"A group of Unix Security Professionals are taking further initiatives to build a Secure, Hardened Posix1e draft OS called MicroBSD .this looks like a good project for people interested in enhancing the security of OpenBSD to become involve with.MicroBSDs are stripped down hardened secure version builds. The concept for MicroBSD is a hardend secure Posix1e small foot print OS for x86/Alpha/Sun/PPC (or other) hardware to use as little hard disk space as possible yet provide fully functional Systems. "

"A group of Unix Security Professionals are taking further initiatives to build a Secure, Hardened Posix1e draft OS called MicroBSD . While building on the roots of FreeBSD and OpenBSD, known for their stability, security & robustness, they have actually forked into a specialized hardened distribution. It seems they are on their way to merge the best of both worlds back into one. While most "hardened" and "secured" distros these days seem to be Linux based, here is a solid entry from the BSD community."
MicroBSDs are stripped down hardened secure version builds. The concept for MicroBSD is a hardend secure Posix1e small foot print OS for x86/Alpha/Sun/PPC (or other) hardware to use as little hard disk space as possible yet provide fully functional Systems. Based on a complete server model, builds for Firewall/IDS/VPN/SMTP/WWW/DNS/FTP and other combinations will be developed over time. "

It's not really clear who is behind the project - a company? individual? group of individuals? is it going to become a commercial distribution in the future?
Another thing - the website talks about all three BSDs in several places, somewhere else it mentiones only FreeBSD and OpenBSD, current distribution seems to be based purely on OpenBSD. So, what is it going to be?
Is there any relation to Fugu project by any chance? [ http://fugu.bsws.de/ ]

mean jack shit, folks. I seriously doubt these people even keep up
with bugtraq, the MicroBSD web site is running PHPNuke for christ's sake.

So, start back-porting TCP port ACLs and I'll finally be completely happy with the security of an OpenBSD box.

forking openbsd into a more hardened, stripped, and secure bsd -- and then adding in the power-points of fbsd, nbsd, & future obsd enhancements?
it's acoustical signature echos of a currently rolling wheel: openbsd.
that's one small change to an image of openbsd, one giant fork for bsd-kind.

What on earth does one acomplish with negative communication ? What good comes out off it ?
Ask yourself what you are doing and why. Everyone can do that.
``I am whining like a bitch because someone thinks differently then I do'' ``I am doing that because the next time I look in the mirror I want to say to myself "hey! look! I wouldnt do what those microbsd guys did, I am far to cool for that, they suck! I rule!" and now I can continue my negative way off thinking''
I thought bsd was about sharing stuff ?
I am really not getting all the negativity. And yes my post is negative as well. I shouldnt have posted it actually.... oh well.. spank me ;p
