Update: hostated renamed to hoststated.

Contributed by jj on from the stateful hosts dept.

For those of you wanting to test the host state daemon recently added, note that it has been renamed in -current.
It's still not hooked into the general build system, so you have to build it manually as stated earlier.

      You read it wrong... it was host ate d, or a daemon to keep track of how many hosts were eaten by the server.

        Wow - is this able to be adapted for use as a LART? New technology is always useful in the war...

    Remember to add the privsep user to master.passwd before runing hoststated.

    _hoststated:*:89:89::0:0:HostState Daemon:/var/empty:/sbin/nologin

    Would be nice if this not only had

    rdr-anchor "hostated/*"
    but also
    anchor "hostated/*"

    for real dynamic rule changes.

      what do you mean ? look at the man pages, you can specify a tag for rules that will allow you to filter related traffic.

    Check it by running /usr/bin/hostate --where-my-bitches-at
