Book: Secure Architectures with OpenBSD

The OpenBSD book I wrote with Brandon Palmer, Secure Architectures with OpenBSD, should be shipping today. Brandon started this book a few years ago (circa the 2.9 release) and I hopped on board as a way to avoid writing my Ph.D. thesis. The book targets experienced UNIX users and people who want to do a lot with their OpenBSD systems and covers topics like PF, systrace, IPv6, and Kerberos, in addition to all the normal administration stuff. It's based on our own experiences, reading a lot of source code for documentation, and the contributions of the userbase in places like the OpenBSD journal and mailing lists. We finished the book shortly after 3.4 was cut and it's now ready for the world! You can buy it in all of the usual places and also the OpenBSD online shop. Austin got a few hundred copies to sell, so now you an get your CD sets, shirts, and reading material all in one place.

  That's something that we plan to put into the second edition, along with any other new spam tools that come along in middle. Likewise CARP and the BGP tools. They didn't make the 3.4 cut-off point.

Congratulations. I understand your book's cover art is launching Addison-Wesley's own "animal line." My own Tao of Network Security Monitoring: Beyond Intrusion Detection also features an animal (a praying mantis) in the new AW cover style. It should arrive in late July.
